Peter Folger is a partner in our Labor & Employment Practice Group. In the area of traditional labor law, Peter’s practice has included leading collective bargaining negotiations for employers and representing employers in court, arbitration and National Labor Relations Board proceedings. He also provides pre-litigation and transactional-related guidance and counseling to employers regarding federal, state and local regulations. In addition to his employment and labor practice, Peter assists clients in matters concerning trust administration and litigation. He also has particular expertise in serving the legal needs of independent schools.
Peter received his law degree (cum laude) from the University of San Francisco Law School in 1973 and his undergraduate degree in History from Stanford University in 1967. During law school, he served as extern law clerk to Associate Justice Raymond L. Sullivan of the California Supreme Court.
Between 1967 and 1970, Peter served in the United States Marine Corps. In 1978, Peter co-founded Folger & Levin. He has been a member of the California Bar since 1973.
Peter is active in a number of community organizations and, in particular, has assisted educational institutions. Peter has been a member of Santa Catalina School’s Board of Trustees since 1985, serving as its Chair from 1992 to 2007. Since 1983, he has been a member of the Board of Counselors at the University of San Francisco School of Law, and became its Chair in 2002. He previously served as Chair of the Boards of Trustees of Katherine Delmar Burke School and Town School for Boys, as well as serving as a member for seven years of San Francisco University High School’s Board of Trustees.
