Risa Morris is of counsel to the firm. Risa specializes in employment litigation and preventative counseling.
Risa represents and advises employers in all aspects of employment law, including wage-and-hour disputes, wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims, and other employee claims. She provides pre-litigation counseling to assist employers in evaluating and, where appropriate, resolving disputes as they arise. She works with employers to develop policies and procedures that comply with applicable laws while recognizing business realities. She counsels employers in all areas of employment law, addressing hot-button issues on a daily basis as they surface in the work place. Risa has litigated disputes in state and federal courts, and handled employee claims before state and federal administrative agencies. Risa also advises executives on executive compensation and severance agreements.
In 2002, Risa received her J.D. (with distinction) from Stanford University School of Law, where she was Notes Editor of the Stanford Law Review. She received her bachelor’s degree in history (highest honors) from University of California, Berkeley, in 1997. Risa has been a member of the California Bar since 2002.
